Finally this year, Mediatech on Stage will take place on an actual physical stage, with live in-person pitches at IBC (International Broadcasting Convention) – The biggest media happening in Europe.
On December 3rd, our promising deeptech startups and scaleups, MediaMotorEurope programme ”graduates”, will pitch their solutions for today’s most prominent media challenges such as misinformation and fake news, accessibility and inclusion, human-machine interaction, protection of personal data and transition towards a data-driven media 4.0 market.
The Mediatech on Stage event will include pitches from 17 deeptech innovators, followed by a Q&A session with questions from the jury. The winner of the best pitch will be invited to the MME Pod at the MCB Village – Hall 5, for the rest of the weekend. Here, alongside the winners of the previous #MediatechOnStage editions, they will have the opportunity to showcase their solution to potential clients and investors.
The startups pitching will be: summy, Circulr, Questpass, x.news, Voxalyze, Wanted TV, Searchr, Rumble Studio, Spectalix, Isoft.ai, Veeplay, Kelp.Digital, JDaily, Wantent, Movi, Saulx and Speech Morphing.
As for the jury, the event will count with 3 strong names in the media field:
Jouni Frilander – Innovation Lead at YLE Innovations department and Founder of Yle Sandbox. His job is to boost innovation and experiment around content and technology at YLE and with strategic partners.
Anne Dyrehauge – a trained journalist from the Danish School of Media and Journalism in Aarhus with years of experience working in different editorial and managing positions at the national broadcasting company TV 2 Denmark. Today, she heads Denmark’s first mediatech cluster as director of Media City Odense. Bert Van Kerkhoven – Head of Business Development at Pitchdrive, a combination of a fund with a strong focus on early-stage tech startups and a complementary angel investing platform. He has extensive experience in assessing, funding and supporting pre-seed startups
The host of the evening will be Kristoffer Hammer. Kristoffer is the EU Advisor to Media City Bergen, responsible for European innovation partnerships and EU projects. He has 20 years of international experience acquired from media companies, tech, and European advertising.
