The second edition of the #MediatechOnStage – live networking & pitching event took place on 22 June 2021 and brought together pitching sessions from mediatech startups, studio discussions with industry experts and one-on-one networking opportunities with startup founders, investors, accelerators, media organisations and journalists.
The main stars at #MediatechOnStage were the second batch of deeptech startups and scaleups that are taking part of the MediaMotorEurope programme. These 21 startups had the chance to present the solutions that they are developing for revolutionising the media industry, and which address the biggest media challenges of today such as: misinformation and fake news to accessibility and inclusion, human machine interaction, protection of personal data, and transition towards a data-driven media 4.0 market.
The startups pitching at the event were: AISpotterBunchID, Deep VA, Design AI, Envision, Factiverse, Musicube, Froomle, PromoMii, Geneea, GlobalM, Klap, Meeco, Mimirium, Scriptix, Smart Touch Systems, Streamfire, Visualyst, United Robots, Varia, Datavillage. If you are interested in knowing more about them please consult the online Portfolio.
The event was hosted by Arne Møller (founder and coach/host at SpeakLab) and had the presence of 2 guest speakers: Ingeborg Volan (Managing Editor for Publishing Strategy and Visual Journalism at Dagens Næringsliv) and Petter Ole Jakobsen (Chief Technological Officer at Vizrt and Chief Innovation Officer at Vizrt Group) that created an amazing discussion around the MediaMotorEurope’s startups and prominent topics such as: online privacy; the monetization of our own data; how startups can take advantage of GDPR rules; how journalistic work can benefit from tools that help fight misinformation and fake news; how to produce good content with just the usage of a phone; how having metadata embedded in content as video is at the most importance nowadays; among other topics.
